WW Points (Current System)
➡️ 2 Points per serving
(mainly from a small amount of light butter — lobster itself is 0 points)
Ingredients (Serves 4)
- 4 lobster tails (6–8 oz each), thawed — 0 points
- 2 tbsp light butter (or light buttery spread), melted — 2 points total
- 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
- Juice of 1 lemon (about 2 tbsp)
- 1 tsp lemon zest
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving
- Cooking spray (optional)
Why This Version Works
Traditional recipes use ½ cup butter (≈48+ points) — delicious but heavy.
Here we:
✔ keep the glossy butter finish
✔ keep grill flavor and presentation
✔ keep richness using lemon + garlic aroma
✔ reduce points dramatically
You still get that restaurant seafood energy — just smarter.
Instructions
Step 1 — Prepare the Lobster
Using kitchen shears, cut through the top shell lengthwise, stopping before the tail fin.
Gently lift the meat and rest it on top of the shell for that classic presentation.
Step 2 — Make the Garlic Lemon Sauce
In a small bowl combine:
- melted light butter
- garlic
- lemon juice
- lemon zest
- parsley
- salt & pepper
Mix well. Reserve half for basting and half for serving.
Step 3 — Season
Pat lobster meat dry and brush lightly with sauce.
Step 4 — Preheat Grill
Heat grill to medium-high (400–450°F / 200–230°C).
Clean and lightly oil grates.
Step 5 — Grill
- Place lobster meat-side down for 5–6 minutes.
- Flip shell-side down and cook another 4–5 minutes.
Lobster is ready when:
- meat turns opaque
- firm but still tender
- internal temp reaches 145°F (63°C)
Step 6 — Finish
Brush remaining sauce during the last minute of grilling.
Serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Helpful Low-Point Tips
- Don’t overcook — lobster becomes rubbery fast.
- Similar-size tails cook more evenly.
- Add chili flakes if you want a spicy version (0 points).
- Broiler method: 450°F for 8–10 minutes works perfectly.
