Easy Air Fryer Fries

These Easy Air Fryer French Fries are salty, crispy, and super delicious! They are soft on the inside and crispy on the outside! A healthier version of the popular fast food side dish!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Additional Time: 1 hour

Total Time: 1 hour 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 large russet potatoes
  • 2 tsp olive oil and additional cooking spray
  • Coarse sea salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Using a mandoline or sharp knife, slice the potatoes into 1/4 inch strips.
  2. In a large bowl add cold ice water. Place the potatoes slices into the ice water bath. Completely submerging the fries in the water.
  3. Let fries sit one hour. This helps to remove excess starch and will help the fries crisp up more in the oven.
  4. Preheat air fryer to 390 degrees.
  5. After the fries have sat in the water bath, drain the water, and pat fries dry with a paper towel.
  6. Toss the fries with olive oil and spray with nonstick cooking spray. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Add fries to bottom of air fryer basket, making sure they are in a single layer (try not to stack them on top of each other.)You may need to do several batches depending on how big your air fryer is.
  8. Cook for 20 minutes or until crispy and golden brown.
  9. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
